Therapeutic Support

Those seeking assistance from a licensed professional with extensive experience in trauma, eating disorders, addictive behaviors, anxiety, or major life changes would benefit from the support we offer during your journey toward healing and self discovery.

Understanding what is happening in your body and present moment experiences while learning and implementing effective skills or ways of coping is a foundational part of the healing process.  We are here to offer a non-judgemental, compassion filled space for you to learn and heal from the past so you too can live more fully in the present.

In our sessions, we will work together to instill self-understanding, adopt new attitudes, "reframe" reactions, and improve positive thinking all while learning valuable skills to cope with life's obstacles and intense feelings.  Making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with difficult feelings can bring life-altering results.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

Helping you activate your natural healing process.

EMDR is an eight-phase therapeutic process that targets specific incident memories. By first targeting internal association that arise from the specific memory and disturbing feelings, the meaning of those painful events is transformed on an emotional level. Making the natural outcome of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors robust indicators of emotional health and resolution-all without speaking in detail.

Origionally developed for treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), this inernationally recognized, evidenced based approach is now used to treat people with a number of different clinical struggles.  In addition to the treatment of specific trauma populations, EMDR can be used to support individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, addictive behaviors, pain, and so much more. The eight-phase protocol is designed to enable clinicians to target the individual's past and current issues and help them face the future more adaptively.  During treatment, emphasis is given to ensure the individual's safety and allopws for customization of treatment to best meet their needs.

Traditional treatment modalities may also be integrated throughout the course of treatment to address symptoms related to anxiety disorders, mood disorders, disordered eating, etc. A person centered trauma informed approach is used in a compassion filled space alongside principles from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
